A little tour at the bamboo workshop creations

I’m taking you to the workshop this morning!

Here is a brief summary of the process of making my bamboo creations.

After the bamboo is cut in the French bamboo nursery, the bamboo is cut in the workshop to adjust the desired length.

The bamboo is then sliced with a specific tool that comes from Asia: the slicer.

It’s a bit of a physical step, but we manage to flatten the bamboo over its entire length.

The next step is the preparation of the lamellas: cutting the nodular walls, sanding, and finally sanding the lamellas to make them smooth and pleasant to the touch.

It is now that the slats are pierced and assembled using a homemade method! After assembling the slats using metal fasteners or by sewing them together, the flexibility of the slats allows for a wide variety of shapes and curves, which leaves room for furniture and decor that is as unique as it is aesthetically pleasing.
